The Biostatistics and Study Design Program assists in the design, implementation, and interpretation of clinical and translational research studies. The ICTR offers a limited amount of free biostatistical consultation/support through this program.

The Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence Synthesis (CCTES) aims to promote clinical trials as a method of evaluation for preventive and therapeutic approaches to health problems. CCTES provides intellectual and methodological input into clinical research studies and research synthesis through up to three free hours of consultation with experts in the Department of Epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

The Core for Clinical Research Data Acquisition (CCDA) is one of the 10 Data Trust analytic teams responsible for aiding researchers with accessing clinical data within the electronic records of the Johns Hopkins Health System. Rates vary and are based on the project.

The Pure Johns Hopkins Research Expert Profiles database identifies JHMI faculty, biomedical experts, and their publications by areas of expertise. Designed to facilitate faculty research and project collaboration, the information in the database is based on published output indexed in the Elsevier SCOPUS database.

The Community and Collaboration Core enhances broad and diverse community participation in clinical trials and ensures that patients in the community receive evidence-based, effective interventions which will improve their health.

The Clinical Research Units (CRUs), and associated services, support a wide range of clinical research at Johns Hopkins. From pilot studies to multi-center trials, the CRUs are available for investigators who require research-trained clinical support for their protocols. Also, the ICTR Research Laboratory, located on the JH Bayview campus, offers research assays at greatly reduced prices. You will have access to the ICTR:

Adult Inpatient CRU and Adult Outpatient CRU in the Osler Building on the East Baltimore campus
Adult Inpatient CRU and Adult Outpatient CRU on the JH Bayview campus
Pediatric Inpatient CRU and Pediatric Outpatient CRU on the East Baltimore campus

The Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network (JHCRN) enables multi-site research by connecting Johns Hopkins with a network of 6 regional community-based health care delivery systems. The network gives access to over 5 million potential research participants.

The Recruitment Innovation Unit (RIU) benefits study teams by identifying and addressing recruitment barriers. RIU services include MyChart recruitment, social media recruitment and customized retention plans.

The Research Ethics Consultation Service is a no-cost resource designed to help raise awareness of, and to assist investigators in resolving ethical issues that arise in the design or the conduct of clinical research.

The ICTR Research Navigators and the Studio utilize broad-based experience and expertise on the preparation, implementation, and regulation of clinical and translational studies. The ICTR Research Navigators help guide investigators to their next steps in the research enterprise. Should your research require more intensive consultation on aims and direction, the Navigators can convene a Studio-- a coordinated consultation with experts throughout the institution in a single, collaborative interaction.

Research Participant Advocates provide consulting expertise on clinical research and regulatory issues, including IRB applications, the informed consent process, study feasibility and good clinical practice.

The ICTR Research Nutrition Core is located on both the JHH and Bayview Campuses. The core delivers a broad range of fee-for-service nutritional and dietary services, including full nutrition assessments, dietary assessments (24 hour recalls, Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQ), food records), anthropometrics and body composition (using circumference measures, skinfold calipers, bioelectrical impedance and DXA scanning at the JHH site), energy assessment using indirect calorimetry and predictive equations, nutrition education, and other services (menu development, recipe testing, oral food allergy challenges, take home dosing, special formula preparation).

The Drug Discovery Development Core Lab grants you access to comprehensive integrated support from early drug discovery to clinical trials. Experts with over 2 decades of Pharma industry experience administer consultations, and those experts have connections to the Pharma, biotech and venture communities. The lab is supported by the following units: Medicinal Chemistry, Assay Development and Screening, Biologic Products Development, Biomarker Development Metabolomics, In Vivo Pharmacokinetics and Bioanalysis, and Biomarker Development Proteomics.
